D200 Raw
« on: February 20, 2006, 11:54:00 pm »

I'm trying to open a raw file (taken with a D200)  with adobe raw without sucess.
I've down loaded the latest plugin 3.3 (8bi) and installed it in the file formats folder of CS2. I can open raw files from D70 with no problem - have I missed something?

I'll make an assumption that may be wrong. CS2 changes where the raw file goes from previous versions. It now goes in the

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS2\File Formats... folder.

read the instructions at adobe.

If I'm wrong sorry,

Bob

You are correct....if the C: drive is your main drive, this is where you need to install the new Camera Raw version file.

Works fine for my D200.

Thanks for your response,I've just checked that file the plugin, camera raw 8bi is there - however raw files taken with the D200 won't open in camera raw or cs2 - is 8bi the correct plug in? could there be something else?

that is the name of all the raw plugin varients. Check properties to insure you have installed the correct one. As I recall it does not autoinstall. Drag the new one there and discard the old.

I think if you look at some of the Adobe forums, you'll find this discussed, and they emphasize that you MUST drag the old version out of the folder and put the new version in, or it won't work. You will find some of that information here:
