Even though it was humid and a bunch of thin clouds blowing through, I had to try this. Got a couple off the 300mm f/4 PF lens on the D800E. Used DxO Elite Prime for post and noise (Takes about 6 minutes per NEF!).
The closeup shows the moons of Jupiter on the right: Outermost is Europa, Ganymede, Io, and Callisto near the planet's edge. Learned the moon Ganymede is only slightly smaller than the planet Mars so it is sort of bright.
Might try again tonight with the older D7000 since it crops into DX and see how if fares with the 300mm which will become a ~450mm f/4.
