Horseshoe Bend.....I know, I know....
« on: July 01, 2015, 12:32:04 am »

......it's been shot a million times (mostly by me), but it's still a fun place to photograph if you are in Page area.

Love the light and colour. I have never been there (probably never will) so I don't know if it is possible to shoot this scene without the rock intrusions in the foreground?

I like it, the sky is wonderful. While it's a popular vista, I also went there quite a few times and always enjoy the place.

It's probably almost impossible as the cliffs are not vertical. Some photographers crawl to the very edge but it's a risky business.  ;)

iPhones are really starting to compete with DSLRs. Too bad it still blows highlights too easily ;)

An ideal scenario for a drone...

Thanks to all for looking. This is as close to the edge as I wanted to get. I need a DSLR "Selfie Stick".  :)

Yes, indeed and without taking any physical risk!

I would be severely disappointed if I went back to horseshoe bend to see and hear a drone zooming about.
During great light- early and late- the tourist mobs are not there. It is a wonderful serene place, and I for one hope it stays that way.
I was in upper antelope canyon a couple of years ago and some TV Crew had permission to fly a drone in the canyon.  Truly detracted from the experience.

In not so distant future, the only visitors to such remote places will be... drones. We will be able to fly them from the comfort of our home, even half way across the globe (just like the army does today), watching it on our floor-to-ceiling, paper-thin screens. Ground maintenance robots will be dispatched occasionally to clean after an accidental drone collision.

I don't like that you cut off the river at the bottom of the image.  Another couple of inches with your camera would have made this work. Everything else is nice though.

Maybe we can send drones up to check if that's caused by global warming.

Great photo - I, for one, don't tire of seeing this view.

Sadly, it's a future that is here now. Hopefully, someone will come up with a personal drone jamming device.
BTW - I just Googled and found this and this (read the disclaimer).
