Grand Staircase Escanlante
« on: June 23, 2015, 11:12:52 pm »

Our first trip to the Grand Staircase happened this weekend. We had a lovely time and scenic route 12 is gorgeous. Being with a large group of friends I really didn't have time for much "serious" photography but we did manage to get to Calf Creek falls trail. The drive in was just staggering and it was killing me I couldn't stop. Anyway, looking forward to returning in Autumn when the foliage is peaking!

Nice composition with the rocks, but the light is a bit too harsh for me. Looking forward to your autumn shots!

Thx Paul! That shot was taken in the middle of a very heated day! We were invited down so we went but it did confirm what I always thought: I do NOT want to be in a national park/monument in summer! Too hot and way too many people.

I was there once in the spring, and indeed Route 12 was incredible, and the temperatures were pleasant. I too look forward to your fall photos. That is a great area.
