H5D50 back on tech camera at 1/500

Also posted this on GetDPI.

For anyone using an H5D50 back on a tech camera: have you tried it at 1/500? Do you get a slight overall purplish tint and a little bit of noise and ghosting in the image? There's a known issue with Hasselblad digital backs syncing correctly with Copal shutters at top shutter speeds. (When shooting with the lens synced directly to the back, and the back set at FlashSync <1/8s.)

It's much improved on the H5D backs, but it's not gone altogether. The workaround is to fire the back first via cable release (for, say, 2 sec.), then trigger the shutter while the back is exposing for those 2 seconds. It's like doing a wakeup procedure on a Phase back. And other than at top shutter speeds, the Hasselblad back needs no wakeup.

My question is, has anyone found a solution to this issue? Does it help to use the new Hasselblad battery adapter? Does the issue vanish at speeds of, say, 1/125 and slower? Does the Alpa sync release or Kapture Group release help?

thanks
ethan
