Printing B/W in Adobe RGB or Greyscale?

(1/1)

OLE.M:
Hallo
I have an Epson stylus 7800, and wonder if there is any difference
printing B/W in Adobe RGB or Greyscale (Gray Gamma 2,2)?
Should I change the Grayscale to Adobe RGB?
Thinking about how long it would last, metamerism and so on.
Thanks for any answers

In order to use mainly the black inks, for better archivability etc, use the advanced black and white mode, and "Printer Determines Colors".

The Adobe RGB vs Grey Gamma 2.2 is a different subject. But I've heard you get better tonality if you convert the file to Gray Gamma 2.2 when you use Advanced Black and White mode.

mjcreedon:
If you do convert from RGB to Grayscale G2.2 remember to remain in 16 bit Grayscale G2.2.  If your file is in 8 bit RGB then remain in RGB space when printing in ABW..

Use Advanced B&W Photo from the Epson driver if your goal is the most archival output. Just send it the RGB working space you have (Adobe RGB (1998) is fine).
