Thanks. To my shame, I don't: I've been walking past here almost daily for a decade and this is the first time I've taken photographs! I'm definitely going to spend a good deal more time there, not just walking briskly to and from work.

Johnny, you're right: now you mention it, so are mine. It's easy enough to remove.

But I would be tempted either to (1) crop up from the bottom to eliminate the corner shadow, or (2) clone out the corner shadow and the dark triangle a little above it with content-aware fill.

Removing the corner shadow was easy (as it happened, clone/stamp worked better than CAF). Which dark triangle?

The thing that sticks in from the right just a little above the now-removed corner shadow.

Here it is(n't), removed via CAF.  

Without it, I can concentrate on the columns.

Ah, I see. I'd have described it as a flowerbed. I'll have to think about that: I see what you're getting at but I wonder if there's not now too much of an open space.

I'm certainly going to take some, now I realise what I've been missing. To the left of the pillars, the road is cobbled, so the textures there should be worthwhile.
