I was just in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada for three days on non-photographic business. On Saturday, I had some time off and went wandering in old Quebec. I was amazed to see cameras everywhere and initially almost no tablets or phones being used for pictures. In one area, while I was having a coffee outside, I counted 45 DSLRs and 14 compacts being used to 1 (yes 1) phone and 2 tablets.
As the day unfolded, the number of phones and tablets increased overall but there were still many, many cameras and at 2 pm, the balance was about 50:50. Interestingly, some folk were using both cameras and phones. I was also surprised by the number of folk using DSLRs who were using quite a few lenses.
Thought folk here might be interested.
