How do I tell a Lab what rendering intent to use?
« on: May 29, 2015, 01:48:56 pm »

I've decided to retire my Epson 3880 and abandon home printing. Not enough print volume to justify maintaining ink carts and paper stock. So I'm back in the Pro Lab game after years of absence.

I download print profiles from a lab, soft proof, toggle between Perceptual and Relative Colormetric, and decide which one I prefer.

How to I tell the lab to use my preference? I've gone through a trial order for two labs (without submitting) and I don't see rendering intent as an option anywhere. I suspect they use Relative Colormetric, but they don't say.

Do the even allow you to convert using the profile? Or do they force you to send something silly like sRGB? If the later, forget soft proofing, you're wasting your time.
