NEC PA322UHD with Mac Pro 2013
« on: May 28, 2015, 11:12:27 pm »

I am interested in the NEC PA322UHD monitor in current use with the Mac Pro 2013 (OS X 10.10.3) using Photoshop CC 2014, latest version of Camera Raw and Lightroom CC. I have read several on-line articles suggesting that the monitors native resolution 3840 x 2160 creates mice type, extremely small icons and other bugs. Is there a lower resolution setting on this monitor that anyone is happy to use with the above Adobe apps that provides a useful size of type and icons?

Take a look at the Diglloyd blog. I believe the Mac Performance Guide section is free and he has evaluated several NEC monitors.

¿ Is there no way to increase the icons and font size as in Windows ?

Go into System Preferences/Displays and check "Scaled" for resolution. Works very well. The monitor is overall exceptional for photo editing and really any visual experience.

Thank you for the response. I am presently using an old monitor running at 2560 x 1440 that needs to be replaced. So the more refined question is if the NEC PA322UHD when used at a resolution of course less than maximum is useful for long hours of Photoshop editing what resolution are you using?

2560x1440. I am very pleased after using it for many hours of post processing. Just an amazing monitor. I replaced a 27" NEC PA271W.
