Very nice and soft landscape! My eyes don't stay much on the dead branch but it's not an issue.

The drama in the clouds is amazing. The dead branch is a really good foreground, but I don't think it is the center of attention in this image. At least not for me.

The first thing I thought about the dead branch was whether it was placed there intentionally.

The dead branch sems a bit contrived but as others have stated, it isn't prominent enough to hold my attention fo rtoo long.

The dead tree branch was there when I arrived. Possibly left by another photographer? I should have just kick it away but figured what the heck.  :)

Here is one from a different angle taken a few years back. As you can see the dead tree on top of the hill not long ago was a healthy Torrey Pine. But the long drought in the west along with the hungry Bark Beetle has killed off many of the trees in the park.  :(

I like the branch, it establishes a connection with the bare tree.
