Copper Dragon
« on: May 22, 2015, 01:44:14 pm »

Ok, so I'm wrestling whether I like this abstract, and portrait, square, or less abstract with the skyline.  Also do I crop the bottom cloud if I crop (below the implied lower jawline).. or is that the dragons beard?  Thoughts/opinions please?

Maddogmurph,

You missed a combination.

I'm missing what you mean?  But sure, suggest whatever you'd like.  This is probably one of my most tempting pictures to digitally alter.  I want to add a slightly lighter wispy cloud like on the 'snout' right where the eye should be...

I believe AreBee is referring to cropping the first image at the top, which would work for me. Otherwise, nice catch.

Oh but that would ruin the wonderful symmetry...  :-\ :'(  But I suppose that's what I've done in 3, but I'm trying to have the focus be on the fact that this cloud could be a dragon or crocodile head... in the abstract.

Try a 4:3 crop, cutting the top off but leaving the bottom. If you're "tempted to do some digital alterations", try removing the comm tower and perhaps the small jet trail at the horizon.

Well seen, maddog! Perhaps what you see is not a dragon or crocodile head, but your namesake!

+1

Or try 4:5 crop like this 1/2 and strech it 2/2.
