I was considering purchasing a set of canon CN-E primes. I would use them predominantly with motion, but also sometimes stills- especially when I do work when I'm traveling. In those cases I only want to travel with one set of lenses.
But I have just tested a set of CN-E's and even though they have a chip mounted on the lenses to share aperture, lens type/length and distance to a canon body, they don't have focus confirmation. I find this nuts, epically when cheap manual focus lenses come with this.
After some internet research, someone on reducer said there was a list of capable lenses that focus confirmation is enabled, but the CN-E's weren't on this list. Does anyone know where canon has this list?
Also, who can you query this with canon? I asked New Zealand's CPS guy, and he was surprised that it didn't work. But I would rather send an email to that chuck westfall guy asking him why canon hasn't included this when its only a bit of firmware. Does anyone know how I can contact him, either through a forum or an email?
Cheers Paul
