http://www.popphoto.com/did-wyoming-just-make-it-illegal-photograph-public-landIs the subject going too far?
Not when you consider that it now makes photographs taken when stepping onto someone's driveway or front lawn to take a photo of someone breaking into a house inadmissible in a court of law.
The protections this will given corporations that no longer have to worry about journalists sniffing around is also high.
Catch someone at a restaurant or hotel doing something illegal? That photo you took can now not be used in court.
Film someone in a store shop lifting? As a private person, that video you made cannot be used against the thief.
But perhaps the biggest kicker is this...
If a police officer asks you to "move along" then do you still have the legal authority to be there?
Does that effectively give police control over your ability to film them in a public place?
"Sorry sir, you'll need to move back another 50 yards whilst we take care of this matter."
Or if another law establishes an "automatic" 50 yard exclusion zone around a police officer when they have just shot someone.
