He certainly has captured as aspect of UK culture pretty accurately.
Superman on the train is a great photo as is the Shoreditch game of 'wiff waff'

Hah! I've been to Calton, once, many years ago with my Uncle Hughie and a couple cousins. Hughie claimed the best fish & chips in Glasgow came from a shop there. We found the place, which looked not-well-cared-for from the outside, and parked nearby. My cousins, who hadn't been keen on the idea to begin with, refused to get out of the car so Hughie had to order & carry back the food by himself. Hughie left the car running, windows up, doors locked. When he came back with the food he pretty much threw it into my lap, plopped into the driver's seat, shifted the car into gear and gunned the accelerator. "There's three big blokes back there givin' us the hard stare," he said with a broad grin. My cousins both audibly sighed, exasperated and probably a little nervous too.

The fish & chips were fab!

Some of us still are, but certain Brits on holiday or 'out on the piss' [getting very drunk] are something else. And it's usually not pretty.
