Lightroom and MacBook Retina display

When I adjust the retina display (2800x1800) to Scaled: More Space, images sizes in lightroom and photoshop no longer display to scale.  When I zoom to 100% it is less than 100%.  I only get 100% when I select "Default for display".  Is there any way to avoid this behavior?
