Since upgrading to LR CC my ingesting of camera raw files now takes much longer.
Instead of converting each camera raw file to a DNG during the ingest, LR CC now imports ALL the camera raw files, then converts them to DNG.
Am I missing something, is there a new preference I haven't checked off?

Do you have the embed original raw option enabled in the preferences?

This is the new method in Lightroom 6/CC if you choose Copy as DNG in the import module. It moves the DNG creation to a background task after ingestion of the images. It gives you faster access to working on your images.  There is no setting to revert to earlier behavior.

Good to know. I noticed this as well and wondered about it though it's hard to tell which takes longer, the old way or the new way. I hope and assume Adobe has a reason for the change.
