Fixing a print head SOLVED!!
« on: May 02, 2015, 09:31:51 am »

Hi All
Iam using Hpz3200 Printer for 3 years from Now and never clogged ever
The only problem happened 3 times till now is that suddenly one of the inks didn't fire
first happened on the yellow didn't fire at all
Second in the light cyan>>>> when print a pic with a lot of blue it appears as banding
Third On Light grey same problem as Light cyan
And when I changed print head problem gone
At the third time I try to figure what is the problem so I disassemble the head and find that the Light grey ink in the head is low
So I refill it from the light grey cartridge  and the problem solved !!!

Yes, that issue and remedy is more often mentioned for HP heads.
I had less luck, in the past I could not observe a low level in heads that did not function properly. Manual cleaning methods did not work either. On the other hand I do not think I have exchanged another head over the last two years, two Z's here.

Met vriendelijke groet, Ernst

So, how do you fill the print head with ink from a cartridge?  An eyedropper?  The reason I ask is that I have not been able to fix the issue with my z3100 failing to boot because it continually senses a problem with the light grey ink - I have changed the print head, and have changed that ink three times with new ink cartridges....still says "reseat the light grey ink cartridge".  I am wondering if the print head is not accepting ink

Three service calls from HP techs and a lot of parts later (delivery tubes etc, carriage.),...still no fix.  I hate the thought of scrapping this like-new printer over this issue.  Arrrgh!

I disassemble the print head and fill it with syringe
I pumped out ink from old ink cartridge
zippski your problem happen immediately after reseating the ink or after some time ?
