I know I'm spoiled this year (picked up my spanking new D200 yesterday at Vistek, plus spare batteries and the matching grip). Merry Christmas to me! Merry Christmas to me! Less megapixel envy when I shoot with the 1Ds Mk2 crowd now...at least I'm in the double digits. ;-)
But Santa....what would really make Christmas most excellent this year would be to find a copy of LLVJ #14 under the tree.
Have I been a good enough boy this past year?

We know that youve been good, but alas your wish wont come true.
Chris was in Antarctica and therefore lost several weeks of editing time.
Look for #14 toward the end of January or early Feb. Just in time to cure the mid-winter blues.

or an early Spring tonic?

Winter? January is summertime, mate.
Of course, LL #14 will still be welcome!

Well it's now obvious that you need to clone Chris, so one of him can go on your workshops/field trips to film them, while the other Chris stays at home editing.
Any hints on what to expect in #14? (So I can start drooling now.) Antarctica, maybe? Or will that be #15?

For those keen to know more about upcoming LLVJ-14, go to this Store Link (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=51) for a tentative Table of contents.
Oh and if you haven't created an account on the new shopping cart database, maybe you could do that (https://www.luminous-landscape.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=login) (FYI your old ID and password will not work) and get a 5% OFF coupon for DVD purchases in 2006
Happy New Year all!

I can't wait to watch number 14 of the journal! I bought the "Big Kahuna" package and have watched all 13 issues over and over! (I'm off work with a back injury so this has been GREAT for me).
Thanks you guys for a job so well done.

Hmmm....now it's late Feb. 5 months since #13.
Is VJ becoming a bi-annual rather than a quarterly publication? ;-)

We dropped the claim of being a quarterly publication some time ago. You will note that a 'subscription' is now good for four issues.
We went from 1.5 hours content in Issue 1 to 2.6 hours content in Issue 13 - so it just takes me that much longer to complete each issue.
An additional Editor is helping speed things up a bit.

Ah...I hadn't noticed the claim change. Thanks for the clarification.
As always, I'm sure it will be more than worth the wait. The only reason we harp on when new issues will come out is because of the exceptionally high quality of each issue and our impatient anticipation of such!
So treat it as a compliment, since that is the way it was intended, at least from me!

BTW...the latest issue of pBase magazine (the one with the excellent interview with Michael), says "quarterly". ;-)
Usually your shipping estimates are pretty accurate when you get within a month or so, Chris. So when you said end of Jan/Early Feb in Dec that made sense.
You sure you guys didn't delay this one so you could include the Lightroom tutorial at the last minute?
Sure sounds suspicious to me. ;-)
Anyway...doesn't really matter, and I'm not trying to hassle you. It'll be great whenever it arrives and I'm sure it'll be devoured much too quickly as a result.

FWIW, from the Store -
"$89.95 / year for the current issue, and three more issues as they are released"
I'd probably take out the "/year" reference which then still begs the question of how often? Anyone subscribing is going to want to know what to expect - annual issues? semi annual? maybe just bite the bullet and say $69.95 for 3 issues with an expectation of an issue every 4 months.

Thanks for pointing that out -it's been corrected!

Hmmm...every 4 months? More like 5+ and pushing close to every half year. Which is fine....you just need to set appropriate expectations.
And if it stretches too long, then you need to look into getting some additional staff/help to assist with the post-production tasks. I think that VJ has grown a bit bigger than what you and Michael alone can handle in a reasonble period of time. That is the price of success.
But then again, I've been known to be wrong before... ;-)

Ahh . . . if just 1% of the people who viewed this website were to subscribe, that would be no problem at all!
The fact is however, circulation numbers do not allow for much extra help.
