Can I ask arch shooters what software are people using for correcting yaw, pitch and roll? I have been using Photoshop but seem to remember someone mentioning that the specialist pano software is better. I have tried Hugin but it seems to want a second image to generate any changes but I only need to work on individual images. Thanks KP.

Hi KP,
AFAIK you can adjust the Yaw/Pitch/Roll of a single image in Hugin. Just load it and in the fast panorama preview (move/drag tab) select image '0' or 'All' and set the numerical values, and/or drag the image.
To adjust for keystoning in a single image, just add 'vertical' control point types with one end in the left-hand preview, and the second end on the right-hand preview of the same image (the control point type is shown as vert. Line). Add multiple (at least 2 control point pairs are needed for keystone correction, otherwise it just rotates to vertical) vertical control points for different positions/sides of the image, and do the same for horizontal control points.
Cheers,
Bart

You can do pretty much anything with Hugin. I think it makes coffee too. It's just not so easy to figure it out...

Thanks Bart. Whats AFAIK. Just had a quick look and haven't come up with anything.

Realised just after i was typing. Was hoping it was a more intuitive version of Hugin! It doesn't seem straight forward at all. Is there nothing purpose built for adjusting distortion etc for arch images?
-
'dxo viewpoint', or simply your usual raw converter ?
-
DXO Viewpoint looks worth a try. Thanks.
-
Just downloading a trail version of Viewpoint, Frederic have you had much experience using it? The video looks promising for correcting misaligned images. Hopefully its better than Lightroom which I find fine for simple horizontal or vermeil distortion but limited if something needs more work.
-
Not much, but I did use it to correct the distortion and proportions of extreme wide angle shots (14-18mm).
Now for single pic I rely on Capture One tools, and when making panos with PTgui you are given control over yaw/pitch/roll too.
-
I don't do stitching, but for single shot images, the perspective correction tools in capture one pro works fine for me.
-
At a quick look DXO seems to only work on jpegs which is guess isn't ideal. Does Capture 1 give more than Lightroom in correction options?
-
Horizon and multi point key stoning.
Download a trial version and give it a shot. The tools are rather easy to use.

Looks good. Don't know why they didnt add that to LR5.

years ago I used panotools. One can do amazing point of view transforms with it. Defish etc.

Let's just say, ever since I started using C1P, I haven't processed a single image on LR.
