Title: Lens hood for the 70-300 IS
Post by: Yakim Peled on November 20, 2005, 12:20:29 am
The appropriate lens hood for the 70-300 IS is the same one as for the new 70-300 IS DO: ET 65 B. However, it is out of stock in B&H and Adorama.

1. Does anybody know of a store in NY vicinity which has it in stock? If so, please provide links.

2. Is it possible to mount another lens hood on the 70-300 IS? If so, which one?

TIA.

You can use a collapsible rubber lens hood. I have one from Quantaray that screws onto the filter threads. I use it primarily for shooting through glass when glare is a problem.

It would be nice if canon would include the @%#@^!! lens hoods with all their lenses.

I see 17photo.com has a ET-65III.  Dunno if that works for you or not.

Unfortunately, it's not. In fact, I have it but can't use it. Other people tried that and it's not compatible.
