There is a new firmware for the Epson 7900/9900.
HN111E8 – dated 25-AUG-14 – Posted on Epson USA (http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=119097&prodoid=63079721&infoType=Downloads&detected=yes&platform=OSF_W_8_1-64).
In usual Epson fashion, the release notes are pretty cryptic: "This update improves printer functionality."
The Japanese site (http://www.epson.jp/dl_soft/readme/15947.htm) has a bit more info: "corresponds to changes in specifications of the LCD panel in mass production" (Rough Google translation, could any Japanese speaker confirm the translation?)
I applied the update without any problem and I haven't noticed any change.
