Title: changing user ID
Post by: mikeseb on November 11, 2005, 02:48:30 pm
Mr/Ms. Administrator:

Is it possible to change one's user ID?

If so, please email me privately with instructions--and thank you in advance.

Getting too much spam using your email?

It's not possible as far as I'm aware of. Email Michael for definite answers...

Not at all. I just find it cumbersome to use my email address as a user ID here, though I often do elsewhere. I guess ability to change it depends on how the forum databases are set up.

Michael - I am not sure that we can do what you ask - but a workaround is to create a new id/login/identity. Then if you wish, I can erase the old one

Can you attach my old info to it--like number of posts, date joined, etc? Or will I have to start over at newbie?

Thanks!

Michael,

Here's a work-around if Chris can't save your old info: In your signature block include the info: "Formerly known as purchase@candelastudios.com,
members,
Group: Regular
Posts: 97
From: Prospect (Louisville), KY, USA
Member No.: 4,094"

Then we'll all remember you.

Hmm - I am afraid not - hacking is not my thing

I like the Dynamic suggestion though
