Title: Sony RX100 - Video (AVCHD & MP4) no sound via Photoshop CS6 - Alternatives?
Post by: Dinarius on July 24, 2014, 10:56:55 am
Due to the presence of the Dolby codec in the Sony RX100, and the meanness of Adobe, I have no sound (AVCHD or MP4) from video shot with this camera when played back via CS6.

1. Is there a converter I can use that will give me sound so that I can do some basic editing in CS6. This is my preferred route. I'm a stills shooter. I just want to dabble in video.

or...

2. Can you recommend cheap(!) editing software that I could use that will play the Dolby codec from this camera.

Very frustrating...  :-\

Thanks.

you could try a transcode with clipwrap to pro res? or dink about with mpeg streamclip

Ive had some sound issues but dont remember them - those are the SW I use and FCP6 and I dont have sound issues with sony cameras (FS100 nex5n)
