I'm not on Facebook, Twitter, or any of the other "social" media, so I never heard of Valarie Millett until I read her "On Landscape" interview a few weeks ago. It's nice to hear from her again on LuLa and to see more of her beautiful work, which I really enjoy. Now I plan to visit her website regularly to see what she's up to.
PS Very cool avatar.

Wonderful essay and photos. Photos really show the beauty of the southwest US.
Thanks for bring this photographer to our attention.
This is the type of material that keeps me coming back to this site.

Les said it very well. She has very sensitive, beautiful work, and I'm pleased that LuLa featured her.
I'll be checking her website as soon as I have time.

The essay is a very good example of a photographer trying to find his/her way in the art form. Her compositions are very well executed and really show her efforts in paying attention to the small details, in terms of shapes, colours, and tones.
Really wonderful photos.

Either I have my finger on the pulse of landscape photography or there's a strange synchronicity going on. A couple of weeks since I started following Valerie's work on Facebook, I see two long articles about her. Whichever, it's fine as she writes very poetically about her work, and the work itself is inspirational.

I love the beautiful, well seen images. A breath of fresh air from the current trends of oversaturated colors, over use of clarity, and excessive hdr.

Grateful for the opportunity to grace the space of Luminous Landscapes !! Thanks for the above kind remarks. While, I know it's a never-ending journey of self-discovery, patience and practice that make a great photographer, I can't thank LuLa for being a part of that continued education.
