Title: Symphony in Stone
Post by: Andrew Teakle on June 17, 2014, 08:59:26 am
Just wanted to compliment Nigel Turner on his sublime work in his essay. From the exquisitely subtle, softly-lit portrait of the stone to the bold, dramatic grand landscape, the photographer has shown the best moods of such a spectacular place.

I also relate to the lifestyle he discussed, having spent two years with my family travelling around Australia chasing the light and immersing ourselves in the natural world.

Thanks for the symphony.

Kind regards,
Andrew Teakle

Wonderful essay and  photos. I've been able to spend several weeks in the area Nigel Turner is talking about and can't wait to get back.
The colors and the light have to be seen to be believed. And sometimes you won't believe the colors even after you've seen them--especially at sunset/sunrise or after a rain.
Thanks for the great essay.

Some of the best work of the American Southwest I've ever seen.  Would like to know what equipment he used to get these wonderful images.

Hi Folks,

Thank you very much for all the kind words and I am glad that you enjoyed the article and hope that it provides inspiration and hopefully motivation in you own work.

Kevin has kindly asked me to submit more articles to LuLa which I am more than happy to do, so if you have any questions that you would like to put my way then please feel free to do so. I would love your input!

Thanks,
Nigel.

The photographs must be quite different printed and large; so I guess that's mostly the reason that, on-screen and small, the photographs that appeal to me are Image-8-.jpg (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/articleImages/Nigel_Turner/Image-8-.jpg) and Image-9-.jpg (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/articleImages/Nigel_Turner/Image-9.jpg)
