Plus tec 120 vs epson v700

Is the plus tec worth the extra $1300?

120 and 35 mm film is what I need to scan.

Brad,
As you maybe noticed from my post the other day, my Nikon 9000 just failed, so I am in the market for a new scanning solution for 35 and 120 film.  I don't go back and scan very often, so I'm not eager to spend $2000 for a scanner, but I also don't want to not be able to.  I ran across this: http://photo.net/digital-darkroom-forum/00b7Fk.  Short summary, using a digital camera with a macro lens, a copy stand and a light box.  Making multiple shots and use a stitching program to put them together.  I just tried it, and it works surprisingly well.  I have an Olympus Micro four thirds camera, and at a one to one macro, four exposures covers 35 mm, 8 covers 645.  Quality is excellent.  It's a bit of hassle to set up, but I think in practice it is almost as fast as the Nikon.

Anyway, it doesn't cost anything to try it, and if it works for you your question is moot.
