Title: What to upgrade first??
Post by: Kanvas Keepsakes on April 01, 2014, 01:44:49 pm
Hey all.  Got a quick question.  I have an HP Envy PC with Win8 64-bit and currently have 10GB of RAM installed.  HD is a 1.5TB and I think I've used about 45% of that.  Also installed is the video card that came with the machine.  It's an AMD Radeon HD 7570.  Nothing fancy.  I've begun to notice that my PC seems to be running a little choppy with some lag especially when I'm using Photoshop with large files.  I'm currently moving all my downloads and movies to an external to free up some of my HD space but my question is what should I upgrade first?  Should I do a big upgrade on my memory or should I go splurge on a real nice video card?  What would help me best with loading large files in Photoshop smoothly?  And if it's video card, what do you guys recommend with your experience?

Definitely upgrade memory first then look at installing an SSD drive for a scratch disk for PS, video card upgrade if you are doing video editing last.
