Title: Can LR5 export masks?
Post by: Mark Muse on February 21, 2014, 12:57:05 pm
I occasionally would like to output a sharpening mask from LR5 as a file separate from the image, or even as a layer on the image. Anyone know if this is possible? Thanks.

Nope.

Maybe you could create a virtual copy, remove its sharpening, select both files and Open as Layers in Photoshop. A blending mode (eg Difference) might then get you to the mask, but it's a lot of messing around though. Not sure.

That raises all sorts of interesting possibilities.  Experimentation will commence tomorrow.
