Very nice, I like the saturated blue boat and the yellow t-shirt along with the almost monochrome sky and vegetation (in comparison). The perspective is very nice also.

Paulo, Francois, Eric - thank you.

Francois, yes, the ultrawide 14mm can allow for dramatic perspectives.

So it's all in the lens, and the photographer's eye doesn't matter?   ;)
I don't believe it!

I think that the perspective, color and composition join to make a very exciting picture.  One thought--I borrowed your picture and in Photoshop I dodged the face a little bit and added some saturation back to compensate for the lightness, and I think it might add to the dramatic effect if it is done in a subtle fashion.  There certainly is enough light reflected from the boat and water as well as from his shirt to justify the brightening.

Eric - point taken :-)

Walter - good points, and appreciated.  I regard the photos in my blog posts as 'first drafts,' so there's always room for refinement.

I hesitated to comment, because this image -though still a great shot- somehow irritated me and I didn't know why,
and now I think its the sky, which looks too washed out for my taste.
Lightening/dodging the person seems to be a good idea too as already suggested.
I think its some tweaking in tones which is needed.
Cheers
