?? I just like the composition and textures. Any opinions and CC appreciated if anyone has some... Thanks, -t

What happened to Hot Popcorn? Nice shot. A little warm, side light would help take away the flat look.
-
I'd say: Background shot.
Needs more subject and the snow looks too much burned / almost burned.
Also as Alan said - the light.
I'd keep it as a concept (which is good I think) and re-shoot with more subject matter, better light and stuff - especially stuff ;)
Cheers

Well I'm just a noob but I think it's got rhythm. I like it.

Todd - the other comments about light (especially side light) and stuff...are spot on. When you look at the frame as is...you have two huge fields of corn on either side of the visible rows in the center (which take up most of the frame)...would interesting light be enough to make these interesting? My hunch is no. These things are worth exploring though... /B

Thanks for commenting Alan, Chris, Micahel and Brandt. I will still play around with it just to learn but I agree with everyone, not a keeper. Much appreciated, -t

Like it cropped --- great image ~!

I don't agree about the crop. I think the original is better with its long sweep into the distance. I agree that sidelight would have helped, but we also probably ought to consider whether the sidelight should have come from the left side or the right side. Backlight might have been even better. It frequently can make a fine picture out of almost nothing. But there wasn't any sidelight from either side and there wasn't any backlight, so the picture up for critique is the one Todd posted, not an imaginary one with sidelight or backlight. I think it was a good try. I'd probably have shot it too. But it is flat. All this, of course, is just one opinion.

I'm getting worried. I find myself in complete agreement with Russ altogether too often. It's probably unhealthy.
But anyway, I agree that it would have been nice if there were more interesting light, but I MUCH prefer the original to the cropped suggestion.

Move away from that refreshment table now, Chris! We have no idea who spiked the punch!
But Cjogo's crop is one I can fully accept. In fact it is very much what I was thinking of doing myself.

Thanks -- I liked the whole flow -- just the right side and distance > just drew my eye away from the fields wonderful flow ...

Honestly - I think without that gross furball it would actually be a nice composite reusing two of Todds photographs.
But as you know, I sometimes feel so creatively silly ...

This is my best attempt at Cjogo's crop suggestion starting on raw image

Not yet, but I agree on the composition.
The file is not in a printable state yet, too many visible errors.
I'd accept it as a concept sketch, but now the technical realization has to come.

So you would like to clean it up a bit, perhaps using Fotoshop by Adobé? :D
