Title: When old (Linhof 1938) meets new (Makerbot 2013)
Post by: jsch on October 30, 2013, 04:38:03 pm
Hi,

I still photograph with a Linhof Technika II 13x18 (5x7 inch) from 1938 and needed a lens board for a Schneider Angulon 120 mm lens. I found nothing on ebay or elsewhere. Yesterday my son modeled it for me in Rhino, today a friend printed it for me with a 3D printer (Makerbot).

Lens mounted, everything fits perfectly. Old technology meets new technology. Perfect.

Best,
Johannes

That's cool!
I still have two of these linhof 13x18's.  It is hard to find the lens boards and when you do, they are quite expensive.

A couple photos would be great, and for that matter if your son is up for it, publish the rendering for others to make their own.
