I might have a week over Thanksgiving to photograph the north and south rim of the Grand Canyon
Never been there, a couple of questions
1. what are your must see locations?
2. when is the best light for Havasu falls, best way to get there?
3. when is the best light for Toroweap?

Havasu falls -- you'll need to helicopter in unless you have a lot of time. Also, it's probably way too late to get the permits from the Havasupai tribe to camp overnight -- and you probably need permits for the chopper ride too (I've always backpacked in and out myself, a very strenuous hike 10+ miles and thousands of vertical feet of descent and ascent). Early or late sun will work or (of course!) overcast.

Toroweap is a full day drive from the south rim. I was there in August and had a great time photographing the area. It's a 60 mile dirt road with the last 2-3 miles needing a high-clearance type vehicle so be careful if you are driving a rental vehicle.

Sunsets are great at South Rim and sunrise for North Rim. As for a spot...there are just too many options.
Toroweap is part of the North Rim, but the way in is not through the main entrance. It took me almost 2 hours driving a 4X4 on dirt road to get to the rim. Just like Sierraman mentioned, you'll need a high clearance vehicle for the last couple of miles. On your way there, watch for wild Mustangs and take some pics! Both sunrise and sunset are awesome at Toroweap. The best season there would be monsoon season to get really dramatic clouds, but you'll also have to deal with driving in the mud. I've never been there in November so I cannot offer any insight for the month.
If you are not prepared to hike about a dozen miles to Havasupai and another dozen miles back to the top, you might want to do the mule ride round trip. I think it's like $80 each way. If you have a lot of gear and bags then you'll most likely pay extra for the extra mule carrying your belongings.

Check the Havasupi web site for info on the trip to Havasu Falls. There is a small motel in the village of Supai. Closest other lodging is at Peach Springs, about an hour + from Havasupi Hilltop. You do need reservations, maybe hard to get on short notice.
Best light at Toroweap is sunrise...really necessary to camp overnight to get it.
It is a long drive from the south rim to the north rim. And there is a possibility that the north rim road will be closed for the season, depending on snowfall. If you aren't camping and the road is open, Jacob Lake has the closest motel.
There is considerable to do in that area...Mesa Verde, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Bryce, Zion come immediately to mind, especially if you have a long week! Time to get out the map!!!

The circle from Las Vegas northeast through southern Utah and then southwest through northern Arizona is just amazing, eye candy everywhere you look!
I fly around the world for a living and in every country there is something beautiful but this area is awesome. When I retire I think I need an RV and no time constraints :)
