Title: Printable DVDs
Post by: rgs on October 29, 2013, 12:57:40 pm
I'm printing on some DVDs with my Canon Pro100 and am not pleased with the print quality. It's flat and colors have a grayish look. Similar results with my Canon ip4980 so I think it's probably the DVD's print surface. These DVDs were what I could get locally so I guess I will need to order some. Does anyone know of a brand/type that gives good results? Also I have read of a silver type instead of white that's supposed to work very nicely. Does anyone here have experience with the silver ones?

Thanks
Richard

I was printing on Taiyo Yuden DVD-R+ from Meritline and was very pleased with the results.  They had a glossy surface which rendered colors very nicely with good saturation and "pop" (I was using an Epson dye based ink printer like your Canon to print them).  I also printed on some Verbatims with matt surfaces that were not as nice, looked sort of dull and lacking saturation (I think they were CDs not DVD's).
