Title: Goodbye Lou
Post by: Pete_G on October 28, 2013, 03:05:32 pm
Lou Reed, fellow photographer, Leica enthusiast, consummate musician and lyricist. I my view the Velvet Underground were the most influential of all rock groups. Will be sadly missed.

Seems he's finally taken the walk to the wild side.
Unforgettable.

Lou was a Contax guy too!   8)

I've been a VU fan(atic) since I was six. Loved the rhythms & the otherworldly vibe. Deciphering the lyrics came a bit later! I can still remember figuring out "Heroin" on guitar, no more than a week or so after playing for the first time. Saw Lou & John Cale perform "Songs For Drella" in New York many years ago...what a thrill that was.

RIP, Lou.

Someone once said, " the Velvet Underground's banana album sold 30,000 in the first year and everyone who bought it started a band."

Brian Eno said it, and I think it's one of the best one liners I've heard.
