I like the shot,how ever the crop doesn't work for me.

For what it's worth, I think it's fairly good, and has a lot of really good elements, but the arrangement of the subject doesn't quite support the chosen framing. I'd play with different crops, perhaps with less elongated aspect ratios.

I like the image in the same way that I like Japanese woodblock prints.
I think it would look v good printed out about 800mm high & presented in a nice simple black frame with white matte.
I'd hang it on my wall.

I've looked at this image several times, Armand. I do like the rendering, but there is something about the aspect ratio that is slightly off to my eye. I didn't say anything b/c I didn't know what to put my finger on and I am still not sure. FWIW.

It's the cloud!
it draws the eye and holds it, dominates the entire scene,(brightest), and keeps the viewer from flowing through to the landscape below!
Either crop the top half off for the cliffs as a subject ,or the bottom half off and just the sky moon and cloud as the subject ;-)

Agree. Crop it off just above the moon. :)

No, no: the cloud's the thing.

Cropping between the cloud and moon is more appealing to my eye. Again, FWIW.

I am having trouble believing that that cloud is being back lit by the moon, but rather front lit as the cliffs are. so the title really doesnt fit. Besides the cloud, that Moon is so small it is really insignificant in the photo and actually is not relative to the lighting on the face of the cliffs... I'd do some more PP on the bottom half and forget the top altogether.

With a little more time here is another version. I felt the crop was not entirely right, the reason for it was to exclude some extra clouds on the left (I didn't want to clone).
I feel this shot is about the moon-moonshaped cloud as much as the moon-moonlit rocks so I will not take the cloud out. Without the moon/cloud those rocks would be quite ordinary.

I have to agree. I think this "fits" much better now. The rocks are less crowded on the left side, too.
