I have browsed some older threads on this, but unlike many here I use a PC (Vista) and need wireless, as the wire drives me nuts in our current setup. I bought a cheap ($10) Logitech wireless mouse for my laptop, and liked it so much that I am now using it for my desktop. It is smaller than the average desktop mouse and very light despite the batteries. However, I want to return this mouse to it's rightful place as my laptop mouse, and get a new one for the desktop machine.
Anyway I'm looking for something with at least five buttons and scrollwheel/middle button. And it needs to be QUIET! I hate mouse noise (or any noise) and especially can't stand a noisy scroll wheel. I would be interested in seven button models as well. I do not like trackballs or tablets.
As for the keyboard, same applies. I don't need anything too fancy, but I want it to be wireless and quiet (and of course have added functionality for LR and PS).
I don't care whether the keyboard/mouse come as a set or separately (or even from different manufacturers).
Thanks for your recommendations.

I can recommend Logitech.
The 'Darkfield' mouse is exceptional

Pick a Kb to meet you specs...just make sure it uses the unifying receiver, so you only need one USB receiver.

Another vote for Logitech.
I use this mouse/keyboard combo: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/wireless-wave-combo-mk550?crid=27 (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/wireless-wave-combo-mk550?crid=27)
The dark field technology is great, but they don't offer a full size mouse that employs it - only a notebook size, darn it!
NOTE: After reading Steve's links below I stand corrected - the Performance full size mouse is Darkfield - but I'm left handed and they don't make a right-handed version.

Logitech makes great products and they make very poor products. Make sure you get the right ones.
