I often enable lens corrections on as default in my Lightroom workflow. Yesterday I was processing a 36 MB image and using the healing brush to remove some dust spots in the image. The brush was unusable: it responded very slowly to cursor movements and was erratic, jumping all over the place. A brief Google search revealed that having performed lens corrections prior to use of the brush can cause such behavior. I turned lens corrections off and the brush performed normally.
I am posting this as a heads up for other users. Have others encountered this problem and what other editing features are affected by prior use of lens corrections. The lens in this case was the Zeiss 130 mm f/2 apo Sonnar on the Nikon D800e. This lens is highly corrected and needs hardly any lens corrections to be performed and I will likely not use corrections with this lens, and I will be checking to see if this problem occurs with other lenses.

It happens with any lens and is a known problem as far as I am aware.

A lot depends on your computer specs.Windows 7 32 gig ram.!7-3370 cpu@ 3.4 GHz. Lens profile enabled and processing files from a d600 approx 24mbs no problem. 36 mbs is more than most photographers process?

My computer is midlevel in performance as shown below from the Lightroom system info listing:

Performance in Photoshop is good, but in general Lightroom is a bit sluggish, especially on startup.

"32 gig ram.!7-3370 cpu@ 3.4 GHz." is more than most photographers use.

now image that users of certain systems have no luxury to switch optics correction off (thank you, Adobe).
