Am I alone in thinking that this delving into the work of famous artists in this way is a diminishing of the value of such work? Should it matter to anyone whether the artist chose to sacrifice one artwork in favour of a new one? Isn't that pretty much an intrusion into the artist's privacy and his right to keep his thought processes to himself? After all, he didn't offer them to the public nor to his patron.

Stikes me that these are yet more examples of modern answers seeking unasked questions.
