Submissions;
Thank you for your submission, some of these are very nice.
Our graphics department has done some editing on a few of your images
in order to show you how you can improve on what you are submitting to us.
We hope you don’t mind.
Photographer;
Thank you for reviewing my work for possible publication.
In regards to your editing and manipulations of my work, I have edited a few of the words you replied to me with and used some of the letters they are comprised of to tell you how I feel about that;
F*@K YOU!

Way cool!

I can relate to those "helpful suggestions" if the work was submitted to one of the stock photo sites. Some image reviewers will take the time to comment on specific quality features a submitted image lacks. Those reviewers are very picky in their opinions of what the site is looking for. I haven't yet heard of actual revises on the image itself by them. Usually it's just a flat rejection with a canned reason such as "incorrect white point" or "too many similar images".
Funny response to the editing.

Along this line, in the late 1800s composer/organist Max Reger took issue with a newspaper reviewer by writing, "I'm sitting in the smallest room in my house. I have your review before me. In a moment, it will be behind me."

That's funnier than anything I've read in awhile. I sent a similar letter to a Mini dealer who had the audacity to offer me almost 50% below low wholesale for a trade-in - the same dealer I bought the car from. I traded it yesterday for a new Subaru, the dealership of which who gave me above trade-in value because the car was so clean and meticulously maintained.
The audacity...my my; I'm glad you responded in that manner.

I just had a look at your new portfolio...whoever responded to you has to be the world's biggest idiot.

Chris,
Are you now going to change your tag line to "Life is about a little kid driving a Subaru?" :D

No, I still have another Mini.
