Title: I hate shooting yellow...
Post by: leuallen on September 03, 2013, 01:18:30 am
because it looks nice on screen but does not usually print well. I hope this one prints OK - I like it. Taken with a bright high sun, flowers in open shade with a patch of same flowers about 70 yards behind in bright sun. m4/3 175mm (350mm ff) at 5.6, tripod. Took quite a few tries as the shutter was slow and the flowers were moving in the wind so I lost some to blur and poor subject placement. This one lucked out - no clipping, good focus, and the flowers were still for a moment and in the right place.

Very nice photo, I've always loved yellow…but I agree, yellow is a difficult color to print.

I printed a 12x16 on a slightly textured mat paper this morning and it came out very nice. Did not have the problems I thought I would.

I agree.
I'm glad it printed well, too.

Some ink experts will hopefully chime in, but I understand that yellow is the most difficult ink to manufacture.
