Title: Egret series
Post by: wmchauncey on August 31, 2013, 12:05:24 pm
In the interest of artistic composition and the supposed rule of odd numbers...should I finish working on this using 3 birds or 4?

The 3 shot is most pleasing to me because the right-most bird is the most completed object. So the flow of the image is clockwise, from the bottom right bird to the top right bird.

I think the 4 shot would be better off if you move the bird that is now top right backwards into the fourth position above the water. That would look more like a progressive series of action.

Three, I think. My reasons aren't as analytical as louoates's: I just don't much like the way the bird looks in the fourth frame.
