Title: Merewether Baths
Post by: garyhill on August 18, 2013, 08:52:51 am
This is an image I took nearly 12 months ago but have only recently revisited. Its not the traditional landscape sort of photo that I like to take but I still find the image appealing. Any comments or suggestions for improvement welcome.

Cheers,

Gary

I also find it appealing. I assume this wasn't taken on Tyneside.

Lovely shot of one of my favorite places. I love the ocean baths all up and down the east coast.

Penny for your thoughts Gary,

I drove up to Newcastle just last week to shoot the Merewether and Newcastle ocean baths.  Light and activity at merewether did not grab me on the day but I did get some happy results up at Newcastle.

You have done well here.

Thank you all for the comments.

Jeremy, your are correct it is not Tyneside. Its Newcastle, Australia not the UK.

Walter, I had the opposite experience to you with a poor evening at the Newcastle Ocean baths but a good morning at the Merewether baths. That being said I did get a nice shot from the Newcastle baths (taken on the steps in your photo) looking north to Nobbys Lighthouse. Its called "Ocean Swirl" and I posted it here on the forums a few months ago. Link here
