Title: WTB- 5x7 enlarger
Post by: mjsharp on July 31, 2013, 10:53:03 pm
I found a sweet old 5x7 camera at my local camera store recently and was unable to resist such an enticing, if orphaned, format.  I'm happy just to contact print my results, but I'm wondering if anyone's got a matching enlarger they're looking to sell.  Mostly I'm interested in not the latest and greatest since this is all just a fun divergence from my typical LF work.  I'm based in central North Carolina but can travel.  Thanks very much in advance for any leads or advice--  MJ

Hi,
I have an 8x10 fotar with Nikon lenses for $900 and can put on a pallet. It also has a color head.

Let me know it is a beast but I sold my 8x10 deardorff so I have no use for it now.

Good luck,
Ken

I wish you luck in your quest for an enlarger - but am curious, is 5x7 film even available these days?

I am also in central NC, so - hello!

That 8x10 enlarger sounds SWEET!  I miss the one I used a bit a few years ago.  I just don't have the room for that kind of equipment right now.  There's nothing like enlarging an 8x10 color negative onto a piece of 30x40 Endura paper!  I have alerted someone I know who has that kind of setup, though, in case he's in need of anything.  THanks for letting me know.

On the 5x7 film front---there's actually b/w available (Ilford HP5 and FP4).  Color neg is available as well, but at beyond-boutique prices compared to 4x5.

Central NC greetings your way as well!
