Title: Flowers and Lilies
Post by: Shakyphoto (Slim) on July 07, 2013, 12:35:32 am
I don't usually take photos like this, but I saw these lilies and flowers and I remembered Dwayne Oakes good b/w.
It was hazy so I was forced to shoot at things near my feet.

Slim, did you use some kind of artificial light? I find the light a bit hard. Framing is good and lilies placement in the frame also.
I need to see it in a with frame to give you a better answer.

No, the only thing that was done was I used a circular polarizer which eliminated reflections in the water (why its so black), and I did a slight vignette on it to focus it to the center.  Made some minor adjustments to the shadows and highlights in LR4.

Thanks Stephen for the additional info… It's probably the contrast between the black water and colorful (and very nice) lilies that gives me the impression of the hard light.
