Title: Filter by virtual copy?
Post by: sniper on July 04, 2013, 12:11:15 pm
Is there any way to find/filter virtual copies?  it's a pain having to do it manually so to speak.

In the filmstrip or in the filter bar's Attributes pane, there is a little dark grey "Kind" icon on a darker grey background.

Thanks for that tidbit, John. I'll be using it a lot, now that I know it exists.

I'm slightly surprised you hadn't noticed it, Eric, but I often think LR's interface could shout a bit more.

The other way to find VCs is using a smart collection and using the Copy Name criterion. For example, assuming the copy name will always contain a vowel, you would add a criterion like: Copy Name / Contains / a e i o u.

Many thanks John, wish I'd spotted that before, it'll make life easier for me.

I'm not at all surprised that there are many useful tricks lurking in LR that my aging eyes don't find easily. That's one of the reasons I find the LuLa forum so valuable.
