Title: Police photo manipulation - 1913 - Suffragette prisoner, Evelyn Manesta
Post by: Nick Walker on July 02, 2013, 03:02:21 pm
http://www.notbored.org/suffragettes.html - before and after image of Evelyn Manesta (at bottom of the page).

I found the article after watching an interesting Channel 4 TV documentary, 'Claire Balding's secrets of a suffragette', which covered the photo manipulation of Manesta.

Fascinating clip from the C4 TV Documentary - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W_URTWjgR0 - new camera angle shows the moment Emily Wilding Davison was struck by the King's horse at the Epson Derby in 1913; also the item she was carrying (which is later revealed in the documentary). Compared to the camera footage which is normally shown of this event (distant, less clear), this closer viewpoint and angle vividly shows the moment she met her death.
