Title: Cone Thrift Ink CL
Post by: Remo Nonaz on June 10, 2013, 11:44:21 am
Has anyone used the new Cone (Inkjet Mall) Thrift Ink CL? This ink is claimed to have tonality and longevity characteristics approaching Epson Claria quality. It is not yet available for the Epson 1400/1430, which I use.

It appears that Cone is using a new cartridge configuration with model-specific 'key' that houses an non-refillable 'capsule' (a cartridge within a cartridge). They claim this is more environmentally friendly. I'd rather just have a refillable cartridge. But still, a good, low-cost alternative would be welcomed. As far as I can see, right now there are two choices for dye inks: really cheap with very poor longevity or very expensive with really good longevity. Neither is ideal.  :-\
