Hi guys,
I am a fairly new Hasselblad H1 user and wanted your thoughts on the HMi polaroid back.
I'm a part time wedding photographer and mainly shoot digital. But I've been experimenting with film lately and particularly like the look of medium format. I purchased an H1 recently with the aim of incorporating it into my outdoor portraiture sessions.
I was thinking of offering on the spot polaroids to my clients and therefore wanted to know your thoughts on it and if it was worth it. For example, if I load polaroid film on the back, does the camera allow me to utilize the whole film plane or just a small portion of it, similar to the V System polaroid backs?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

The image area of the polaroid is 4,5x6, which sucks.

Hi Geesbert,
Thanks for the input, when you say it sucks because it's 4.5x6...what do you mean exactly? Isn't the H1 4.5x6 anyways?

645 is the size on the instant film, so its hard to see anything. So its just like the V polaroids. The Mamiya RZ let you get 7x7 images, which are a nice size.

TMARK,
Appreciate the input. Hmmm, looks like the polaroid back may not be worth it after all :/
Thanks for the input everyone.
Glad to hear other opinions out there.

Yes, it's a small image area but you can pick up the HMi for not much money if you wanted to try it.
I have a virtually unused one for sale (low price). Contact me offlist if you are interested.

Here is a quick scan of a quick shot on very old Fuji PP100c instant film with the HMi back. I corrected the colour cast from the old film.
Resolution of the jpeg is 100ppi

That should read "Fuji FP-100c"

Hi Tony,
I appreciate you posting the scanned image of the polaroid shot.
Looking at how small of an area that is being used, I think it's probably not for me. I was hoping the image would take up a much larger portion of the film.
However if I do change my mind, I'll definitely know who to contact.
Thanks again!
