Hi Cyron,

this depends on the place where you will be and the season. In example, Sächsische Schweiz ( in Saxonia, near to Dresden ) is a great place for landscape shooting in both fall and spring, but in summer, it is not that good.

On the other hand, the north, especially around the Baltic sea like island Rügen or Hiddensee, is great for the whole year. Although Bavaria is surely worth travelling.

Best wishes

Robert

Germany is a very large country!

However, one of the best ways of initially exploring at least the western side of it from a photographic point of view, is to take a river cruise from Basel to Amsterdam (or the other direction). You will pass through some amazing countryside on the Rhine. Other than that anywhere along the Germany/Austria, Germany/Switzerland, Germany/Poland and Germany/France borders will present a rich variety of possibilities.

Here, maybe ?

Aloha,

Go to the very western part, then go a bit farther; when they start speaking French,; you'll find some really nice spots :-)

i lived in germany while in the service...

lots to see...  start in wurzburg and head south....  they call this the 'romantic road' for a reason...

i lived there and assumed all of germany 'looked'this way until i actually got out n about...

I think the pictures of Neuschwanstein castle in the fore ground and the mountains in back are good.
If you can go a bit further south into Switzerland that is some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen.

Hi Cyron, I have to agree with Robert: It depends.
Where are you going to be located, how much time do you have, what season (summer is not the best time, indeed), what type of transportation will you use and most importantly what are your interests?
Germany covers quite a range of different types of areas from the costs in the north, through flatlands, high moors, mountain ranges, different types of wooded areas, river landscapes...and of course all sprinkled with the castle on the hill (or castle in the meadow) type of spots, if you like that. Also, keep in mind that Germany is densely populated and most if not almost all landscapes are essentially man made: Agriculture, forestry - there are only a few areas converted into natural parks.
So, what will it be?
I live in the South-West of Germany, in Heidelberg.

Best
Angela

The list goes on and on. It's a spectacular country - but best in spring, autumn and winter.

Hello guys,
Thank you for your wonderful ideas. I have to search the mentioned parts of the country on the net to understand the scenery. I am planing to make some pictures there. Thank you.
